Avoid Common Tile Installation Mistakes
There’s nothing worse than seeing that the results of your DIY floor project did not turn out as expected. Here are some tips for a successful tile installation:
- Take the time to design a layout of the entire floor before laying the tile.
- Be sure to lay tile under sinks, vanities and other semi-permanent items. If you don’t and then decide to reconfigure your space later on, you’ll have to redo the floor.
- Make sure the sub floor is level to avoid split or cracked tiles.
- Have the right materials, tools, and machinery for the job on hand so that you can cut and lay the tile properly.
Don’t ruin your investment by taking unnecessary shortcuts. Take the appropriate steps to ensure your installation is done right the first time.
